This is a very nice little restaurant with awesome bread and sandwiches. They won Best Croissant and Best Dessert in Dallas and Best Sweet Tooth Fix from D Magazine, Dallas Morning News and the Observer. The owner is a real French baker and he knows what he is doing. I love to go there on the weekends when they serve French Crepes.

This bakery in Plano is amazing. Not only does it sell delicious European style Breads, Danishes and Pastries, they also have an excellent variety of Sandwiches.

Also, they sell a wide variety of Coffees, Lattes and Iced Coffee. They have a great hot tea selection as well.

True French Taste
Having tasted the French quality overseas, I am delighted to have found a place in Dallas, where I can get a truly French croissant and delicious European style bread. A MUST-taste experience. A pity that they don't have more branches in Dallas.

Favorite Place EVER!!! 5 Star Rating - World class

My godmother told me about Voila when it first opened. I frequent the restaurant/bistro at least once a week. It's great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fantastic crepes on the weekends! I recommend the banana and nutella. It's also fabulous for coffee. I love to go grab a loaf of their freshly made bread for my dinner guests at my house. I always give Voila their due credit though :) I love the kid's options too!!!! Great place all around!

The best Croissants outside of France
5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

My husband and I were blown away with the flaky Croissants -- the best we've tasted outside of France. They are worth the drive! The other breads are lovely also -- with the taste of French flour. It's well worth the splurge now and then.

I have driven past this place many times with my parents who live in Plano but my mom and I finally decided to try it.
After being a little confused on where to place our order I ordered a half sandwich (vegetarian) and half salad (chicken Caesar). My sandwich was wonderful! It had roasted vegetables and a peanut sauce on fresh baked bread. Mmmmmm! My salad was also really good. But I will definitely be going back to try more things or just for that sandwich... Yum!

Great little French bakery. This place is owned by real French people! I got a French muffuletta panini and tomato basil soup, it was delicious! They also sell all types of bread, some I'd never even heard of. The cafe environment is kind of fun but you're scrunched in very close to the tables around you, so be careful your iced tea doesn't spill in you lap like me.

Dear Voila Bakery,
I am so pleased with your food and all. Every time I come in I try something new and it is always a delight to enjoy. I don't know how to put it but you have the best sandwiches, pastries, soups (tomatoe basil is the best!) ... I can go on!
I hope you plan to expand. I have gotten people from Fort Worth hooked on your raisin rolls. Thank you for the great food and the staff is always kind and smiling! I have never been disappointed in anything, keep up the excellent work!

Sincerely,
Shannon

My sweet tooth follows me when I am out and about. I was actually looking to bring in some sort of pastries for my co-worker's birthday si I figured I'd check this place out. I pretty much started drooling as soon as I saw what was in the display case. I picked 4 different desserts to try – hazelnut mousse, key lime tart, a napoleon, and a mini chocolate cake with pecan coconut filling that was covered in chocolate and toasted coconut.
So we tried a bit of everything – the napoleon was perfect – just enough pastry creme between the puff pastry and the icing had just the right amount of sweetness. The key lime tart had just the right hint of sour and the crust was heavenly. I didn't really care for the mousse but there wasn't technically anything wrong with it – I just don't like mousse. But hands down, the favorite was the chocolate cake/pecan concotion. There was just a thin layer of cake and the rest was the coconut pecan goodness.
There's no question that I will be back here again. I really want some pain au chocolat. Maybe tomorrow morning...

updated December 10th, 2007:
I went back and the pain au chocolat was top nutch. As was the pecan pie, the chocolate tartlet and the carrot cake. My co-workers and I loved it all!

I've been here twice now, and was pleased both times. Voilà is what La Madeleine wishes it could be – a true French bakery and cafe.

I still haven't tried their sandwiches, but I've eaten (or at least tasted) their Banana Nutella crepes, bacon egg breakfast croissant sandwich, the Mediterranean salad, croissants, and the vanilla éclair.

Everything I've tried so far has been amazing. The Mediterranean salad had fresh balls of mozzarella and really good prosciutto. Their salad dressing was great – perfect blend of oil, balsamic, and herbs – not too tart. I also recommend the crepes. I'm sure all varieties are good, but the banana nutella are to die for.

I would suggest going for yourself for breakfast (served only on the weekends) or lunch for the great food, but don't take their bakery for granted, either. Next time you just need a good loaf of bread, stop by Voila and take home one of their many varieties of fresh bread.

This place has gotten a lot of hype on some other Dallas foodie websites for beeing a great little French bakery, and since my sister lives right around the corner & spoke highly of it, we decided to meet here for a late breakfast/early lunch. I especially wanted to try their croissants as the Dallas Morning News gave them 2nd place in all of Dallas & D Magazine gave them 1st place.

So the restaurant is small, but when you walk in, you are greeted with an beautiful and tantalizing display of fresh pastries & breads. The place smells fantastic. Between four of us, we sampled:
• the Mediterranean Salad (spring mix, sun dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and some of the juiciest bits of prosciutto (hmmm!)
• Croissant (which is one of the better ones I have had in the states – compared to France)
• Hubby ordered the breakfast sandwich served on a croissant w/egg & bacon- decadent
• And for dessert we tried an éclair
• Also sampled their house coffee, cafe au lait & hot tea (all of which were excellent – we all have pretty picky palates when it comes to coffee & tea- they have a nice selection here)

The staff are a bit frantic, and the service is slightly unorganized, but it is well worth it. It is not overpriced – the portions are generous, so you can split dishes. A lot of customers were coming in just to get fresh baked bread (which they have a lot of) and they also had homemade packed granola (like pistachio, white chocolate chip, & raisins)! Definitely worth the drive. I'd be in trouble if this place were right down the street from my house.

We went to a BBQ for labor day at our friends house.
They brought out a bread basket full of the most amazing bread I've ever had -- perfectly crispy and crusty on the outside and wonderfully yeasty, doughy and chewy on the inside. I asked my friend where they bought it from and she gave me your phone number.

So, home, I looked you up on the internet and you're way the heck up in Allen (yes, I'm one of those who never ventures too far away from downtown Dallas!!!). My question to you is, where else can I get your fabulous bread without trekking up to Allen. It's great bread, but I'm not sure I want to burn up tanks of gas just to eat loaves of bread...
I hope you can help! Thanks for making my taste buds come alive tonight!

AWESOME,
Very good food. The Croissants REALLY are worth driving up to Allen for. The Ambiance is nice even though when you sit on the patio the view is busy McDermott Drive traffic whizzing by, which makes conversation a bit tricky sometimes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating for the most part ... there are a few rough spots, but still I'd give it 2 croissant covered thumbs up!!

to go with friends after church every Sunday, but we moved away from them – come to Voilà Bakery in Allen!!

Dear Mr. Blanc,
I wanted to let you know that my partner and I had breakfast at your cafe this morning and we are absolutely thrilled to have you in the area! What a treat for our morning eats. Jean Christophe.
We met yesterday morning. I wanted to let you know I appreciate your time. I know running a bakery is time consuming work. Your enthusiasm for your bread, and for sharing it with others, is wonderful. My parents lived in Epinal, France for 4 years while my dad worked for Trane Airconditioning there (he still works for them, now here). Anyway. I love your home country, and hope at some point that we have time to get to know one another.

Hi Jean Christophe,
it was so nice meeting you the other day and visiting your wonderful and stylish bakery in Allen. I am from Munich, Germany and I loved your tasty bread and exquisite sandwiches. There is no difference to the focaccia you can get in Italy. The french baguette is even better than in many places in France. What a wonderful concept, excellent cappucino, and you can even have a "real" espresso. I wish you all the best, hope to see you again soon. Wish you would open another bakery in Munich.

I am a true convert
from the airy white store-bought breads to Jean-Christophe’s delicious European breads. Folks, there’s no turning back once you’ve had the real thing : ) And don’t even get me started on the croissants! The absolute best flakey, buttery, melt-in-your mouth biggest croissant I’ve ever had in my life! Brings me back to times I spent in France. I’m passing this jewel of a secret to all my friends : )

I've eaten there maybe a dozen times
since they've opened. My favorite is either the Chicken Caesar sandwich or coffee and any of the chocolate goodies (chocolate mousse – yum). Used a coupon once, no problems. The people behind the counter have always been very nice.
Our office is around the corner from the store, and we go there a few times a week. Food is great!

Best bread, pastries & croissants I've found in DFW!
Okay, I'm a bread-lover. I admit it. Never really took to the "no carb" lifestyle. And I've had some really good bread in my life, but this bakery in Allen is amazing.
Their chocolate croissants are pure decadence. They get everything right ... down to the slighty-moist ganache ribbon running through the pastry.
Their tarts re amazing. Their sandwiches are wonderful. Their ice cream is even European (spaghetti style) and whoever heard of ice cream and hot chocolate pudding? But oh my goodness, it's GOOD ...
Recently, when I was in, they were "testing" new crepes they're adding to the menu soon ... more goodness ...

Your products are the Best.
I sincerely mean THE BEST. I don't live nearby but I will drive in for the baguette alone. The croissants are unbelievable. I've also had a great loaf of bread and some cream cheese pastries. So good. It must be a thrill to be able to make bread like that. I'm a pretty good cook but not so good with bread. Love your café too.

Allen loves Voila!
We could not be happier to have such a nice place in our neighborhood. A real European bakery in North Dallas, what a treat. I brought some of their breakfast items to a business breakfast and nobody believed me that I bought them in Allen.
Everything they produce is exceptional. The Master Baker is originally from France and you can taste the difference. They were vote "Best Croissant" in Dallas from DMagazine and just received a great review from the Dallas Morning News.
Check it out you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic!
I ate at your marvelous establishment for the first time today, but it won't be the last! My chicken Caesar salad, with the low fat Caesar vinaigrette and spicy grilled chicken, was fantastic. And the French baguette bread was so fresh and delicious! A friend who accompanied me tried the French onion soup, ciabatta bread and Caesar salad and was equally impressed.
Now if I could just get you to open a location in Southlake, where I work, my lunches would be set for every day of the week!

Bonjour,

Thanks for the email.

By the way I love the ham and cheese croissants.
Do you plan having them available every day?
My wife and I love your place.

Voila Bakery in Allen

We tried Voila Bakery & Bistro over the weekend and were very impressed. The pastries were great and not overly sweet. They offer salads and sandwiches and the pastries. It is on McDermott just East of the Alma & McDermott intersection.

Monsieur Blanc,
Bonjour. My name is Laurie Welsch and I am writing this note, along with the shared sentiments of my friend, Sue Butler.
I want to tell you that we had been eagerly awaiting the opening of your boulangerie, and after several visits, we are convinced that your breads have to rank among the best we have ever tasted! Ditto for the selections of desserts- they are truly magnificent; we hope you have a presence in North Dallas that we can count on for many years.

Merci beaucoup, Laurie Welsch and Susan Butler

Hi Jean-Christophe,

Just wanted to tell you what a pleasure it was to have met you yesterday! I plan to bring the completed paperwork in to you on Friday. Look forward to working with you (& the other good folks there) in promoting your great new business to the community.
And, your rye bread and apple walnut bread are WONDERfUL - both toasted and untoasted! I thought some might make it to the freezer so I can enjoy it at a later date, but...doesn't look like that will happen. I'll just have to buy more! … :-)
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to me yesterday and I'll be back soon.

Sincerely, Sue Zubik (the dietitian/diabetes educator)

I went to Voila yesterday.

I had been eagerly awaiting their opening. I've been to Paris twice in the last year, and have a hard time finding the perfect French baguette.
I bought a baguette, an apple tart for my husband, and a key lime tart for myself. The baguette was wonderful!
I think I may have to go after work again today to pick up more bread!

We go there ESPECIALLY for the walnut raisin bread,

it is so good. The sandwiches are wonderful with a "green spread" (it has a real name) and the desserts are yummy. The bread quality is a real stand-out, and the staff is very friendly …

… I think you mean the cream cheese pesto. I love their sundried tomato spread, yum. I agree the bread and the sandwiches are great. I drove by today and it looks like they are working on a patio.
